Employee Assistance Program

Calling all Employers

There have been recent changes in the laws and regulations surrounding the employers’ duty of care towards their employees.  There is now a greater emphasis on 'family-friendly' work polices, and recognition of the need for a proper life-work balance, for all workers at all levels.  This implies a duty of care for the psychological wellbeing of your employees, especially around stress related issues which can be caused or contributed to by working practices.

Many companies offer Employee Assistance Programmes which would provide counselling as part of their services and these companies usually subcontract this work to individual counsellors.  We are different in that we are a company consisting of counsellors and psychotherapists who are offering a localised service in the south Manchester/ north Cheshire area,  We are all experienced and qualified in a variety of disciplines so we can offer the flexibility of approach for your individual employees psychological needs.

What is psychotherapy? What is counselling?

Both are ‘talking therapies’, offering the opportunity to focus attention on areas of your life you want to change, or problems you want to resolve in an honest, supportive and confidential environment.
In Counselling you can voice your concerns, work out strategies, develop insights and identify inner resources to meet your needs.
In Psychotherapy you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships or use the process because you are interested in personal development for its own sake. Psychotherapy can also help you make sense of irrational thoughts, feelings and behaviours which are affecting your life.
We offer various types of counselling, long term therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brief therapy, Person Centered Counselling, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Integrative Psychotherapy, Hypnosis and others.

What types of programmes do we offer?

This will depend on your organisation’s needs.  We can be more flexible than many EAP providers in that we can charge a single payment for a course of sessions (eg £360 for 6 sessions)or the organisation can pay a retainer based on number of employees (£15 per year per employee).

How is the Programme accessed?

When an employer identifies a problem with the psychological wellbeing of an employee and the employee wishes to talk to a counsellor, then a simple email can be sent to authorise a course of sessions, just like a purchase order.  The employee will attend the Cheadle Hulme Centre at a time suitable for the employee and therapist.  Daytime and evening appointments are available.

Workshops

We also offer workshops around such topics as

•    beating depression
•    Stress management
•    Improving working relationships
•    Building confidence
•    Dealing with performance anxiety
•    Conflict resolution
•    Bullying in the workplace, how to spot it and how to address it
and many more.

Workshops usually last for half a day (4 hours) and will be a mix of experiential exercises and discussion.  No previous knowledge is required.

These workshops can be held at your premises for up to 12 employees at a time or if you do not have a suitable room or significantly less than 12 you can book places at workshops run at the Centre.
